Where it starts
First builds in Unity
Self taught
Unity, C# and whatever idea was interesting that week. No brief and no deadline, years before any of it counted towards a grade.
Timeline
Every step from the first Unity build in 2018 to a studio desk in 2026: the courses, the nine projects and the two graduations, laid out end to end. Nineteen milestones, oldest first.
Scroll to travel along it. Tab moves card to card, and the year markers jump.

2023
Education
Creative Digital Media · Newcastle College
Finished at Distinction, and the point where games stopped being the thing to do after homework and became the thing to study next.
Sep 2023
Education
Newcastle College University Centre
Two years of games technology, and the year the output turned consistent rather than occasional. Everything past this point shipped.
Mar 2024
Project
Solo · Unity 2D
An arcade score attack game whose hazards unlock on a survival timer, then scale their own spawn weight with score. The difficulty tracks the player instead of a fixed curve.
Apr 2024
Team project
Small team · Unity 2D
A top down extraction game in the shape of Lethal Company. I led the level design, tile creation and pixel art integration.
Jan 2025
Project
Solo · Unity 3D
Networking learned properly: Relay hosted sessions on a 30 Hz tick, cloud authentication, and a 64 ray hitscan resolved on the server so a client never reports its own hits.
Feb 2025
Project
Solo · Unity
An idle simulation stress tested at 10,000 concurrent entities, held together by a multi rate tick and time sliced proximity AI rather than a per entity update.
May 2025
Project
Solo · Tyne to Game jam
Built in one week. A single detection meter drives three state officer AI, escalating patrols and helicopter passes across procedurally placed cover.
Jul 2025
Education
Newcastle College University Centre
Graduated with a 2:1, a Distinction in year one and a Merit in year two.
Aug 2025
Project
Solo · Unity 3D
A node conquest RTS whose AI gets no cheats and no extra information. It commits through the same percentage interface the player uses, across several distinct personalities.
Sep 2025
Education
BSc (Hons) Games Development, final year
A new university and a higher level in the same step, straight into the final year of the BSc.
Jan 2026
Team project
Team of 10 · Unreal Engine 5
Beta Arcade, Teesside's studio simulation module. I owned the player controller on Enhanced Input, the interaction system behind one Blueprint interface, and the camera blended stations.
Jan 2026
Project
Solo · Unity 2D
One territory percentage drives the difficulty, the fire rate and the enemy AI at once, across procedurally generated caves with runtime 2D NavMesh baking.
Apr 2026
Project · final year artefact
Solo · Unity 3D · 90 / 100
86 scripts and roughly 17,000 lines. Hundreds of passengers run off one fixed 10 Hz tick, picking facilities by lowest estimated total delay, with six live ratings feeding back into the spawn rate.
May 2026
Award
ExpoTees 2026, Teesside University
Cyber Station took Best Artefact in its category at the university's end of year showcase.
Jul 2026
Education
BSc (Hons) Games Development · Teesside University
80% overall, with the final year project at 84% and its artefact at 90.
13 Jul 2026
Work · now
Out of Water · Unity 6
Ten weeks in a studio on an original IP, owning the character and enemy gameplay code: component driven state machines, the splitscreen plumbing under co-op, and a performance pass measured branch to branch.

What's next
Gameplay, systems or AI programming
The Shiverbug internship runs to 18 September 2026. Middlesbrough or remote, with the right to work in the UK and happy to relocate.
That's the lot
Most of these are playable in the browser, and eight of the nine have a technical breakdown explaining how they actually work.
